The juxtaposition of the two starkly different caving experiences is on full display here. Mammoth Caves is one of the most beautiful caves in America and its extreme popularity means the only way to see it is by going on a large group tour. Horse Cave doesn’t have quite the beauty of Mammoth but it’s less frequent and more intimate tours (in my case I was the only one) allow you crawl through tunnels that very few people have ever seen. In these pictures you will see a few translucent, blind animals. They do not have color or sight because neither would be beneficial to them in a cave with no natural light source.
